The First Epistle of
Paul to the Corinthians by Leon Morris
In this most intensely
practical of all St. Paul's letters the principles so necessary for
the life and service of the Christian church are clearly and
forcibly presented. Writing that the study of Paul's first
letter to the Corinthians "is immensely rewarding," Dr. Morris
continues, "This letter arises out of the practical difficulties
besetting a far-from-ideal first-century Greek church. Here we
have a typical Pauline letter. The apostle praises his
correspondents for their Christian virtues, and rebukes them roundly
for their many failings. He adds to their knowledge with some
great passages, notably his discussion of love in chapter 13 and of
the resurrection in chapter 15. Whatever he touches he deals
with in the light of great Christian principles.

The Second Epistle of
Paul to the
Corinthians by Colin Kruse
In this lucid
exposition of 2 Corinthians, the letter which gives us the most
personal portrait of the apostle Paul to be found anywhere,
Colin Kruse reveals his ability to combine scholarly treatment
with simplicity of presentation. Here the heart of the great
Apostle is disclosed and the reader is made to see the relevance of
the Apostle's instructions for the church in our time. The
arrangement of the material assists the reader in grasping the
Epistle as a whole, and the commentary on individual verses leads
him into an intelligent understanding of the truth Paul sets forth.

Biblical Tongues by C. Norman Sellers
The first word in the title says it all. This
book is Biblical, no stories of people I knew who did or did not do something,
which really does not prove anything with regard to the truth of the Word
anyway. Some comments used to describe this book are: "Thoroughly
covers every aspect"; "informative and useful;" "well
written, to the point, easy to understand;" "the best treatment;"
"a great blessing;" "very much needed;" "best
I have ever read;" "the most detailed and complete;" "the
most helpful of all;" "by far the best"; "tremendous...logical."
